Mt. Everest Climber Raises Support For Non-Profit Paratransit Provider

CALGARY, ALBERTA - Bill Borger, a Calgary businessman, adventurer, motivational speaker, and philanthropist has become the first Canadian and fifth person world-wide to both swim the English Channel and climb Mt. Everest when he reached the summit of Everest on May 11, 2011. To date, the Everest 2011 Summit expedition has raised $405,250 for Calgary HandiBus. The Calgary HandiBus Association is a non-profit organization that provides wheelchair accessible, assisted ambulatory, and special needs pre-school transportation services within the City of Calgary. Their fleet of buses is purchased solely by donations. To maintain the current quality and level of service HandiBus needs to replace 13 buses each year from their 115 bus fleet. When asked about his support of HandiBus, Bill Borger says: "They make 40,000 trips per month, their Everest is getting around the city."
