Rides For Life Seniors Transportation

SALT LAKE CO. UTAH - Rides For Life is a seniors transportation program operated by Salt Lake County. Salt Lake County, Utah has a population over 1 million people and includes Salt Lake City. The Senior Transportation Program provides rides for eligible adults, 60 years of age or older, with no other means of transportation to vital medical appointments such as dialysis, chemotherapy, physical therapy and prescription pick ups. They provide 50,000 trips/year for 2300 registered users. Rides For Life operates a fleet 28 vehicles, 6 of which are wheelchair accessible with the rest being sedans. Some regular group trips are also provided for grocery shopping. Users of the service are sent out a monthly statement where a small/trip monetary donation is suggested. Rides For Life utilizes volunteer drivers. The may use their own cars or operate a county vehicle.
