Innovations: VanGo Vehicle Grant Program

SNOHOMISH COUNTY, WA - The VanGo Vehicle Grant Program was started in 2000 by Community Transit (Snohomish County's public transportation agency) to improve transportation in the community for seniors, the disabled, youth, and agencies not located within the transit service area. Since then, Community Transit has granted 96 vehicles to non-profit organizations such as the Josephine Home (featured in the video below) in Snohomish County to provide transportation services to residents. Besides assisting these organizations meet the transportation needs of their clients, the Van GO program helps offset the demand for the Dial-A-Ride paratransit service provided by Community Transit.

This service is made possible through VanGO's partnership with the Charles County Health Department, which receives the state funding for MA transportation and contracts with VanGO to provide the service.
