Non-Profit Spotlight: ITN America

INDEPENDENT TRANSPORTATION NETWORK - ITNAmerica is a national non-profit organization that provides transportation for seniors and adults with visual impairment. It's community based affiliates coordinate volunteer drivers to assist clients "door-to-door, arm-through-arm" to where they need to go in the local community. Clients are able to trade their own cars to pay for rides, while volunteers can store up "transportation credits" for their own future transportation needs. Over time, ITNAmerica hopes to extend their program to small and rural communities, and even internationally. The Community Transportation Network in Fort Wayne, Indiana has a similar initiative called: Senior Keys. For information on other non-profit agencies and programs see: Non-Profit Transportation Services.
